The challenges i faced this semester included the development of new and unique ideas considering the different mediums i worked with in this class. I was challenged in the area of clay (3D art) , paint (watercolor and acrylic) , because i don't usually work with those i am more used to 2D such as prisma colored pencils and graphite pencils. I have my own artistic process that i usually use, which includes developing ideas in variety, i don't just stick to one subject. Then i sketch out each idea to see which one will work the best when the piece is actually developed, once i've done that i go in and always sketch first with a pencil to make sure i have all of the components of the piece in the right place and all of the perspectives and the composition is right. I felt successful in the sense that i got to explore different mediums that i don't always do, although next year when i am in AP art i am going to focus closely on my strong suits that i am best at so that i have more pieces i am happy with to put into my portfolio, because right now i am not that proud of all of the pieces i have collected in my studies of art. I think i grew as an artist in the sense that i know exactly what types of art and mediums i enjoy doing and i am going to find more inspiration and motivation to work on art in my free time over the summer and continue to grow as an artist because even though i have grown a lot since my first art class, i still have a lot more growing to do and i am excited for it. I had a few projects this year that i was just not happy with by the end of it, but it just motivated me to want to put more work in and get better.

1. The process of creating this type of watercolor painting was unlike any that ive gone through before this. First, we made a detailed sketch of what we wanted to create, i chose a snail. We then went it with masking fluid and put it all on the brightest highlights of the work. You then wet the paper pour on the desired primary colors, the first layer is light, you then put more masking fluid in the places with the next lightest highlights and pour on your next layer of color. You repeat this process until you have your desired outcome. When that is dry, you pull off all the masking fluid and the parts you were happy with stay the same. 2. the difficulties i faced in this project was getting all the desired colors i want in certain areas because they all mix together and spread out around the page, i accepted by the end of it its more surreal looking then realistic and it's just the style of the art. 3. I learned a good way to make abstract art in a laid back way that still takes some thought put into it, i'll probably use it in the future and practice more to become as good as the artist who came in to show us how to do it. I also learned how to use masking fluid as this was my first time having to use it. 4. If i were to do this project again, i would start out by making my sketch more detailed so that i would know better places to put the different values, I wouldv'e also made my masking tape more neat then i did, so i could get specific shapes out of it, i also think i used too many colors and maybe should've stuck to 2 to make the colors blend less because it created a lot of brown. 5. The more layers i added to my piece the better the texture and values looked, i think with this project you have to put a lot of thought into where the masking fluid is being placed, where you should put each color and
